Lost the plot? You're not alone
Finding the path to regain your story
Sometimes we lose the plot.
The events happening in the world make no sense, we don’t know what we’re searching for, and we’ve lost sight of the mission.
Our eyes may be open, but we don’t have the vision to see what’s happening and where we need to go.
That’s okay. When things are moving too fast, it can be difficult to understand or make clear images out of the blurring pace of life.
When we’ve lost the plot, we need to remind ourselves what is most important. We need to remind ourselves that this is about growing into the best kind of human being you can be, to yourself and to others, so that other human beings can grow and become their best selves too. Everybody has this journey to travel.
How do we become our best selves? It involves work at a variety of levels, from physical fitness to relationships to inner strength to what creative activity (through work or other means) we put out into the world, to moral balance that respects oneself and others. It means feeling very alive, making good decisions, and driving in life with a mission/purpose.
It requires belief that things can change, and for the better. That you have growth and potential.
It means pursuing a better life and better world where people can thrive and be free to be their authentic self, a self that makes things better, whatever the size of impact. It means people feel joyful, alive, and are connected to other human beings, building a sense of common goodness until it overwhelms the darkness. It means ownership of your own story.
You can retake control of your story. Remember who you are. Remember what’s important. Do what you can to do better for yourself and those with whom you interact.
Regain the plot, and find your meaning and mission again. The confusion will go away and you’ll see the story again.
